  • I've been on a mostly vegetarian diet for the past 5 years.

  • I've found that the most effective diet (for me, anyway) is a limitation of 1000 calories per day and a 72-hour intermittent fast per week - split over 2 days. Using this diet I can lose as much as 5 pounds per week. You must drink plenty of water, though - at least 2 quarts per day. The only exception I make while fasting is a slice of cheese eaten 3 times when I take medication that requires that I take it with food. Each slice is only 70 calories, so it doesn't affect the diet much at all.
  • Low carb diet for type 1 Diabetes. That does not stop me from eating treats at all too.
  • I don't diet because I don't need to, but I do eat healthily, a variety of foods but no junk, almost no processed foods or refined added sugars, and not too much red meat. Other than that, I eat pretty much what I want. If I limit carbs too much, I lose weight that I don't need to lose, so I have to be careful to make sure I get enough of them.
