  • Learn a lesson - stay out of your sister's private stuff! I assume that's what she would say if you raised it with her too.
  • The only reason i can think of that one of my sisters shouldn't be using birth control would be if she were already pregnant.... in which case I'd let her know the odds are she won't get double-pregnant.
  • How old is your sister, even if she is young it's better if she is safe.
  • If you go rutting around in your sister's belongings... shame on you. Be happy she is on birth control because you don't need to become an aunt/uncle at such an early age. You should keep this info to yourself and if it gets discovered by the rents, then they will deal with it, she is their responsbility and not yours.
  • Women should always be on birth control if they don't want a child, even women/girls who aren't legally old enough to be having sex. She's being responsible, and it's none of your business.
  • If she is sexually active she SHOULD be using birth control pills. If she's very young she shouldn't be sexually active - but that's a different question. If she's old enough, then her sexual activity isn't anyone's business except hers. I'm assuming she is unmarried? You wouldn't prefer pregnancy, I'm sure?
  • If it were me I wouldn't assume that I was the person best qualified to decide that "she shouldn't be using them". Obviously she feels she should and what she decides about her reproductive life is her business. You can either act as if you never saw them or speak privately, very privately with her regarding your concerns. Beyond that, you have no role in this and certainly no place in outing her to your parents.
  • At least she has the good sense to prevent herself from an unwanted pregnancy. Just leave her and her stuff alone. She knows what she's doing.
  • Depends on her age. If she is of age, then there is nothing you can do about it. If she is underage, then talk to her quietly. Birth control is one thing, but there are other things that can result from being sexually active eg STDs.
  • y shouldn't she? is she trying for a baby? if she is and she doesnt know these pills stop her prehaps its a good thing to be taking them if she is having sex and she does not want a baby then well done on her for taking precautions, if more people thought ahead like this there would be a lot less unwanted babies around and just because shes taking these pills does not mean she is having sex, she may just be trying to make her periods lighter, or more regular and may be prescribed by the doctor. leave her stuff alone its personal and you wouldnt want her snooping in yours will you?
  • You do need to take into consideration the fact that alot of young girls do go on birth control for reasons like regulating their periods, or to help control acne. Most of the time a young women does not go on BC for the sole reason of being sexually active. If she is sexually active, I would commend her for being safe, and being brave and smart enough to obtain birth control on her own without even having to come to you for advice or assistance. She is your sister, why dont you talk to her about it?
  • What were you doing in your sister's overnight bag? Hmmm?
  • Keep quiet about it.
  • Aside from the fact that I shouldn't be meddling in my sister's things...I would respect the fact that she was being responsible and was taking proper measures to avoid an unwanted pregnancy.
  • Snooping in your sisters stuff is not very nice but as for the pills if she is on birthcontrol then she is required to take a pill everyday and she only had them with her so she wouldnt forget one.. People take birthcontrol for more that just preventing pregnancy. You can also take them to help regulate a period so dont jump to conclusions just cause you see birth control! Its really not that big of a deal! But if you feel uncomfortable about it just bring it up to your mother.
  • I would die laughing, considering her tubes are tied. I would NOT be going through my sisters things. Why do you think she shouldnt be using birth control?
  • I would be astonished to learn that I have a sister all of a sudden.
  • I dont think first of all you should be going through her stuff, secondly how old is she?? if she is of age to take the pills then its really none of your business, at least she is being responsible. If she is not of an age to take the pills then speak to her and ask her why she is taking them.
  • Maybe she is on birth control to regulate her periods. And if it's not for that reason, then you should be proud of her for being smart enough to not want to get pregnant. You should try to talk to her about it to see why. She sounds like a smart girl to me. Maybe you should try to talk to her & make sure you let her know that birth control doesn't protect against STD's.
  • i would be dissapointed to know she was having sex at a young age but proud of her for taking up the responsibility to get on birth control. i would also talk to her and remind her of std's and condoms.
  • well you would have to talk to her and ask her. most of the time you need a perscription or parental consent for pills so your parents may already know. it could be to regulate her menses or it could be to prevent pregnancy you will only find out by asking. so since you were busy snooping try being busy talking before you go tattle.
  • Well if she has them, then she SHOULD be using them (since she is obviously sexually active). I would talk with her about it.
  • Why shouldn't she? Would you rather her end up with a baby, then?
  • If they're there, I would def. think she SHOULD be using them. She could be sexually active, but could not. Maybe shes on them for a different reason. But if she is, I'd assume you'd rather have her on BC then pregnant.
  • Well, if I were one to think "she shouldn't be using them", I'd also probably be one to switch them with a similar looking pill, such as aspirin or rat poison. You know, teach her a lesson in responsibility.
  • When I found out my son was sexually active with his girlfriend it made me a little less upset to know she was on birth control as they were both too young for sex or a child. So be glad that your sister is watching out for her well being and quit digging through her things! Unless of course your sister is married and her husband thinks they are "trying" for a baby??? But you still should not be going through her bag, soy...
  • Personally, I would stay out of my sister's business when it's that personal. And... I would be glad that at least she is using birth control instead of using nothing at all.
  • just keep it to yourself. she's just trying to be safe. =] it may shock you, and disappoint you, but she shouldn't be punished or have privileges taken away just cause you saw something personal of hers. [:
  • Personally, if I found birthcontrol in my younger sister's bag... I'd find out who the man is she's doing things with and beat him to a pulp before dropping him off at the back door of the hospital with a warning never to be seen again. But then... I'm a bit of an overprotective big brother.
