It is recorded at a groundbreaking 20 frames per second and is the earliest surviving film.       The first motion picture was "Sallie Gardner" in 1878, of a man riding a horse, taken with multiple cameras. This was the film equivalent of a flip book, precursor of the kinetoscope.
