  • I love the Spanish language, the Jamaican accent, the Scottish accent, the Irish (rep/eire) accent's pretty cool , the german language and Japanese. But I'm not familiar with lots of accents and languages world wide. I speak english - the english dialect, but there are many, and some people seem to find them all confusing, i'm from the midlands, if that's at all helpful.

Although English is my main language, it is my second of six languages ... the High Plains dialect of Cree is my third, and Mandarin Chinese is my fifth ... I am currently in Montreal, Canada ... have been here since 1990.

  • I grew up in southwest Missouri, used to have a good hillbilly drawl, but lost it when I moved away, so now I think I have a generic midwest accent (not the northern cities accent) I like to hear a Texas accent, not big city Dallas or Houston, but west Texas.

  • I speak Pacific Northwest English. My favorite accents are the British Posh, Australian broadcast (very soft, not at all like Steve Irwin or Crocodile Dundee. I was in Sydney years ago and was lulled to sleep each night by the guys chatting on the radio), and South African English (one of the doctors from a clinic I worked at was from South Africa and I could listen to him talk all day!) "English was heavily accented with Italian (Sicilian, really). What a memory." Agreed. Most Italian peninsula accents are quite lovely! As for foreign languages, Japanese, Italian, and German are my favorites to listen to.

  • Welsh it sounds so warm and good humoured even if you can't understand what they're saying. And why has no-one mentioned Italian or French - the most romantic languages on earth! I'm an English-speaking New Zealander so I also love Maori because of the power of the spoken word and because of the poetry in the phrasing.
