  • I Disagree. Tradesman - master of one. Jack Of All Trades - master of none. I'll explain my answer this way ... I have four trades to my credit, plus I've owned 8 businesses, and the only time I've ever been unemployed ... is when I wanted to be.

A person that knows a little about everything, doesn't know a lot about anything. And that's not the person I want fixing my car or doing electrical work on my house, I want someone who is qualified to do the work properly in the first place.

The question was not who's better prepared to do the job it was who's better prepared to deal with life. Society needs both. And I can agree to disagree

Yes you can, we all have our opinion, that's fine and as it should be. But I do know both tradesmen and jack of all trades. The latter haven't done very well at dealing with life at all. The tradesmen, on the other hand, are secure, a lot better off and by comparison have dealt very well when life has thrown them a curve ball.
