  • It takes years of shared experiences for love to develop into more than romantic love. It takes time to strip away the illusions of your "white knight or princess" and to see the person they truly are. Until that time, it may be romantic love or infatuation, but it is a beginning.
  • Why not, who are we to determine "real love"... and by we I mean older people who say teenagers can not experience real love...
  • "Real" love? Anyone who falls in love knows how real it feels. Real enough to do silly or even stupid things. If anything I would say teenaged love is more dangerous than mature love because life experience does not temper it. Young people are like high-revving cars. They redline easily going from love to hate to love and back and forth again. It's hard work! Good thing they are young. As one gets older, the heart gets broken and healed several times over. This lends strength and choosiness to love. Good things.
  • yes i belive teenages can experience real love, personally im a teenager n i think im experiencing real love right now we have been together for nearly a year n from the moment i 1st met him i started to fall for him, i dnt c y older people (parents) think young people cant experience real love coz there isnt a age limit 4 love
  • As debsmooth said, as a teenager, you are not experienced in love, but that doesnt mean that you cant experience it. If anything, you are alot more vaulnerable in your first (a the first few) relationships. You havent yet learnt the skills required to deal with certain challenges a relationship may present. But i know personally, i fell hard and fast the first time...
  • I believe anyone can experience real love, but it can sometimes take years for someone to be able to nurture that love and grow it into something that could last a lifetime.
  • Yes..Love is felt by everyone and age has nothing to do with it.
  • When one is very young.. (meaning little kids) Love carries a very surface kind of feeling.. meaning the more that is done for that child the more loved they feel. As one gets older... and understanding of life increases... Love begins to carry far more meaning and thoughts, words, and things both tangible and intangible begin to reach deep into one's heart of hearts. Can a teen experience real love? of course! There are many many instances where teens fell in love in the most classical sense and developed relationships based around that love that has lasted for years beyond the origins of that loving relationship. Let us not forget the timeless tale of Romeo & Juliet... 2 teens deeply in love... headed down a tragic path...
  • Age shouldnt matter in love im fed up with people thinking that only adults have love some teens actually are more in love than married couples so adults have no right to say that
  • They sure can! Try to tell anyone that it is only puppylove...it's not to the puppy:)
  • Define "real love." Who is to say that the emotions felt by a teenager are less "real" than those experienced later in life? Different? Certainly. But no less real. As the mom of a teenager, I'm dreading the day I have to watch my daughter deal with her first broken heart. I challenge anyone to explain to a 16 year old that the pain they feel after that first break-up isn't "real."
  • I think the feelings can seem even stronger when you are a teen simply because you haven't been hurt nearly as much. You have more reservations when you are older. While it may not last-the feeling may be stronger and seem more intense. Most people are completely different by the time they are an adult-if love can endure that, it would have to be real.
  • Love is love whether you are old or young.
  • yeh i believe they can but sometimes it takes along time to experience real love.
  • yea there is no age that yuyo can or cannot fall in love
  • Sure, the kind of real love that lasts 24 hours
  • Perhaps, but most people at that age are so dominated by their own hormones that lust is far, far more common than mature love based on mutual respect, trust, and knowledge of each other.
  • Yes, they can love their parents, and their siblings, friends, and even someone romantically. I fell in love with my husband when I was 14 but waited to grow up before making it a permanent thing. We've been together for 35 years, all from a teen falling in love.
  • I wasn't aware we've discovered what real love is yet.
  • Oh yeah I think all teenagers can experience love, find love, be in love. I did. =]
  • Yes they can experience real love
  • yes, A teenager can experience love
  • As a teenager myself: I say "Absolutley." It IS harder to make a relationship work in highschool becaus we are all changing so much so quickly, and hormonal/emotional and we all have our occasional bursts of immaturity. But none of that means there can't be real love there, just because of someones age.
  • Absolutely :)
  • If there mature enough some are.
  • Generally, no. Most are too immature to know what real love is. Real love takes real commitment, as well as time for it to grow and thrive. It withstands great trials and tribulations, and only the passage of time can prove that.
  • Define real love? Do you mean love in the sense of putting another's interest before your own? That is real love. I think teenagers are too untried and untested to be able to experience real love. Mostly the test of time has a lot to do with it.
  • +5 yes
  • Oh yes!
  • They can experience love more than adults imo. Real love too...
  • Yes, as long as they are 18 y/o, or 17½ with a Love Learner's Permit. If you get a permit you have to take your grandmother with you everywhere you go, and she has to sit between you. Before you ask, NO, you can't take grandpa instead of grandma. Grandfathers are just as lecherous as teenage boys, and you'd have four hands instead of two all over you. But it could still turn out to be True Love, until Granny finds out.
  • I do believe they can be really IN love but real love? Nope. They still have to 'discover' themselves, what they really want from life and what kind of person they would like the share the rest of their lifes with. Still too much changes that will come in their young lifes.
  • Technically No and nor can some adults. The human brain isn't finished developing until around age 26 so up until this point one can never be sure what one is actually feeling. +2
  • well to them it IS looking back on my own experiences, and again from my own experiences, not a thing for adults to mock or question so parents beware, dont even go there, and the answer is probably yes
  • They think they do. I thought I had real love all the time. Think it was possibly some sort of love, I remember the crazy feelings, but I wouldn't say it is real love.
  • yeah they can
  • What is real love? is it the point to which you believe that you would die for that other person.. or is it simply a strong desire to be with that person.
  • I thought it was real love, then I got P*ssy and decided it was only lust and moved on.
  • What is real love? is it so much that you believe you would die for that person, if not then is it just a stronger form of like? -i for one see it as caring for someone so much that you would die for them... that is true love or "agapae" love, otherwise known as unconditional love. --to answer your question i believe a teenager by age can experience real love.... High School sweethearts for example. but i believe that this type of teenager is very rare in today's time because he/she will be much more mature than their age suggests. Hope this helps. :) good question!
  • I'd say a naieve teenager is more likely to experience real love than a jaded or bitter adult.
  • of corse there is such thinq. you may not realize it but someday you will.
  • I fell in love many as a teen. Unfortunately I was never loved back. I guess a teen can love but unless your loved back it is futile
  • love dosnt know age it just is
  • im not really sure it depends you know when you feel it
  • I know I was genuinely in love when I was a tennager.
