  • I grew up in a rather strict and traditional environment. A "B" was considered as "FAILING" and that was about the end of the world if I got any less than a 4.0. I was lectured day and night about having the family proud but I believe a child should move at their own pace but still try to keep up in school. A kid should not be stressing out about school until their Junior year in high school.
  • i didnt, niether have my children, only reward for good grades
  • I was sat down and lectured for about 5 hours about how I am too stupid to go to college with grades like that.
  • I didnt/dont get punish. I just got praised if they were good.
  • i was never punished for anything concerning school, my parents had their own problems, how i did in school was the least of them...
  • never got punished, i was never a great student, but when i left school i was 14, and i feel that i learned more when i left school, it was a matter of having to as failure in the work force would not have been an option and i have done o.k and can do most things that are needed in life.
  • My mom never said anything about grades.
  • OMG...One time I was playing around when I should have been learning my Times Tables and I got it Bad! What a bad memory. I wonder if that was the reason I was so bad in Math after that. lol
  • I almost never got poor grades and besides, I was self punishing. Anything less than perfect and I'd beat myself up. Parents please watch out for signs of that in your children. It's not a good thing.
  • They didn't. I got almost straight A's up until I got ill and distracted and my grades fell really dramatically for a couple of years. From that point on they rewarded the good (with money, praise, going out for meals) which they hadn't done before, and didn't focus on the bad. I punished myself enough for bad grades, my mum and dad tried to counter-act that and not let me be so hard on myself.
  • I didn't. Nobody seemed to care whether I did good or not, including me. I could if I wanted to, just never really bothered. XD
  • I was neither punished nor rewarded. If I didn't do as well as the previous report my father would maybe make a comment about me slipping or resting on my laurels.
  • Having poor grades is an up to scratch idea
  • My parents were madly skilled- they never actively punished or set repercussions for me, but I always had the vague feeling that there would be horrible, unspeakable consequences if I /did/ get bad grades. I never ended up getting anything below a B+ (and that rarely,) on my overall transcript, but if I did do badly on an individual test then they were just very disappointed in me. Which was way worse than being yelled at or spanked.
  • My husband screams and yells at them most of the time and also he's scaring them that he's not going to give their college fees(because I don't have a job, he's the one paying everything, he's not let me to go to work either) and insulting them everyday and telling with his coworkers and his family members, and also he's blaming, calling me names like whore, bitch and some other bad words and insulting me all the time in front of my kids. is this nice way to punish kids and mother?
  • I really wouldn't know ... I NEVER had poor grades in school ; always A's -B's or their equalivant .. +5
  • I was a little lucky because I would get yelled at or spanked but you know how a "F" means failing right? well my dad thought a "D" was failing but the girl who said a "B" for her was failing in her family I'm sorry for you but I hope you have tryed hard to get all "A's"
  • i was slapped,my ears were pulled forcibly.. my ps 2 was gone, i may not go out for weekend.. no good food.. my mom ignored me for a few days and worst, more private lessons for me till i show improvements... What a harsh childhood i have
  • I didn't. +5
  • My dad would beat my arse.
  • I hadda hang around my mother every afternoon until my grades went back up and I no longer 'needed' her 'help'. [Yikes!] ;-)
  • I was never punished for the poor grades.
  • i never had poor grades to find out.
  • My parents would just show me their disapproval verbally. I guess I was pretty lucky when I consider how some kids would get grounded with their books or denied TV privileges for bringing home a bad report card.
  • depending how low the grade was. An F meant a otk spanking and grounding. A C or D was just grounding.
  • Depended on the grade, 90 and above, good, 80-90, got 10 strokes with the belt, for each grade below 90, I'd get one stroke across the bare butt-so if I was to get a 60-30 strokes! Man I made sure to rarely get grades like that.
  • I never got punished at home but my forth grade teacher spanked me in front of the class. She let the kids in the room laugh at me. She did it every time I failed a test.
  • I was wipped. It hurt, but it got me to Rush University.
  • Grounded. From everything.
  • I wasn't punished. My parents gave me an incentive $2/A $1/B. If I did not make the grades I did not get the bonus. Also if I did not make the grade my parents would work with me after school on that subject until I understand everything and started getting better grades.
