  • Once I got to know them? Sure! It's a fucked up world.
  • Yes. They could probably use the help if they are dating me.
  • sure....people can benefit from therapy. It takes a big person to admit they have problems and decide to get help.
  • Yes, don't see why not.
  • Unless it was court ordered, a person seeing a therapist, psycologist or counsellor apparently has recognized he or she is having some difficulty and seeking help to make the situation better, rather than being in denial and not seeking help. In essence, yes, I would date someone who is working on making his life better.
  • What if you are married to them and they start seeing a shrink? Then what??? My husband was seeing both of these doctors for a time and I think even a psychiatrist who could dispense meds. This person is getting help. Be happy.... They have the desire, the funds or the insurance to get help.
  • Sure, at least I wouldn't have to tell them to see a shrink.
  • Sure would...hell I need one myself! :)
  • Why not? All that indicates is that person knows they aren't perfect and needs a little help straightening out some things on their mind from time to time. After all I think everyone I know in this world could use a session on a couch with a therapist! Everyone has "issues" only some of us want to sort them out.
  • No. Could you imagine getting into an argument? You would always lose because they start analyzing you and then the next thing you know they start telling you you have a mental illness and then you would never have a chance to win an argument. I say forget that.
  • I don't see why not to be honest. It just shows that the person is trying to improve themselves and their relationships with others
  • Of course, rather date her than a saddened girl that doesn't seem to think that she needs help
  • Yeah. I see no problem with that.
  • You are asking someone who used to be a complete nut until he got a psychiatrist and was put on Abilify. Geez, I remember even one time I stepped outside a bar and for no reason got angry and busted out the windshield on a government vehicle with by jumping on the hood and crushing it with my foot. I even got a couple of menacing charges. Once they put me on medication I went to college, graduated ITT Tech with honors and am attending Kaplan with honors. I also enjoy being a web developer. It's all about balancing out uneven thoughts and going from nonsensical to sensical. My girl sees a psychiatrist, and I date her. No one is perfect. If everyone was perfect, who would need anything or anyone but his or her self?
  • I don't see why not. At least they are willing to get help.
  • yes in a heartbeat because that means they recognize they are not perfect, have a problem and are getting help. Do you know how many people do NOT get help that need help because of the stigma attached to it. I tried to be a volunteer a while back at a place and they turned me down because they REFUSED to use anyone who had EVER seen a therapist for any reason (even post partum depression). A guy refused to date me one time (he hung up on me without even finding out anything about me) just because I said I was in therapy. He missed dating a wonderful person which I am and I would have made him a great wife.. SO, you bet.
  • If I didn't then, I wouldn't date. Is there anybody who doesn't have at least one of those?
  • Sure I would.
  • It depends on why they are seeing one. I dont think I would completely sut them out because they are seeking help. I would get to know them and if I liked them I think I would actually appreciate that they can see that they cant do it alone. They are seeking help, which most are to prideful to do. I think if you like that person, and they like you go for it. Have you seen the world today? Maybe more should look into seeing a psychologist.
  • Yes. Everyone has someone they confide in; someone with whom they vent and share troubles. The fact that someone chose a professional over a friend would not influence my decision to date them.
  • It would be hypocritical of me to reject someone because of that. I would have to make up some other reason.
  • Why not? Everybody has problems and emotional issues in their life..
  • Sure! It would be better than dating someone who had deep rooted issues who refused to address them
  • I've dated psycologists and psychiatrists and they all have shrinks.
  • Yes my man has seen one 2 times in the last few years... he has problems and he got them fixed!!! I love him no matter what!
  • Not only would i date them, But id have a threesome with their psychologist
  • Certainly. In fact, thinking about it...I think I've dated more women who have had therapists than who haven't. Maybe it's because I come from a privileged-yet-fucked-up area of the world, or maybe I have deep-seated psychological issues myself so I'm attracted to that type of person. Who knows! Tangents aside: I would and I have; they're just normal people.
  • sure, i think that would be interesting
